THE LEGACY

Mr. Sylvesta McQueen Hall was born 1957 in Palestine, Texas to Wilbert Hall and Cameal McQueen. Sylvesta spent only two days in Texas before returning to Fresno, California where he was raised until graduating Thomas A. Edison High School. In 1975, twelve days after graduating from high school Sylvesta enrolled in San Diego State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Marketing with a specialization in Strategic Planning.

Sylvesta returned home to Fresno once again from San Diego by way of Atlanta in 2000 when and where he started Coast To Coast Petroleum, LLC, the first African American-owned oil company in the Central Valley.  This was Sylvesta's first major contribution back into his community of Southwest Fresno.

In 2012, Sylvesta entered California State University of Fresno’s Craig School of Business, where he received his Executive Master of Business Administration with a Specialization in Business Agriculture and Advanced Finance. While at the Craig School of Business Sylvesta wrote the Strategic Business and Marketing Plan for what now has become the “West Creek Village Master Planned Community Project” to be located in Southwest Fresno, California. The West Creek Village Development Project is the largest Social-Economic-Cultural Strategic Project in the history of Southwest Fresno.

This transformative project consists of the new SCCCD Career Technology Institute, a 11.75-acre community park, a regional retail center with business and medical, along with 481 single and multi-family residential living units. The West Creek Village Development Project is the culmination of a life-long dream and covenant with God of Sylvesta coming back home and helping to rebuild his childhood community of Southwest Fresno. To this day, Sylvesta Hall’s greatest accomplishment and joy in life has been his marriage of 44 years to his loving, nurturing, giving, and unselfish wife Mrs. Vanessa Dale Reese-Hall.
